The bustling streets of Thamel, known for its vibrant atmosphere and numerous shops and restaurants, are just a short distance away and can be explored in the evening.
On the second day, after a delicious breakfast, you'll embark on a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. The city is adorned with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and you'll have the opportunity to visit some of the most renowned ones. Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, offers a glimpse into Nepal's religious and cultural traditions. Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, stands as a symbol of peace and enlightenment. Swayambhunath Stupa, perched atop a hill, presents panoramic views of the city and showcases a fusion of Buddhist and Hindu elements. Lastly, Kathmandu Durbar Square, with its ancient palaces, temples, and intricate woodcarvings, provides a glimpse into Nepal's royal history.
On the third day, bid farewell to Kathmandu as you head towards Pokhara, a picturesque city nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. The drive to Pokhara takes approximately 6-7 hours and treats you to breathtaking views of rivers, terraced fields, and snow-capped peaks. Once in Pokhara, check-in at your hotel and enjoy a leisurely stroll around the enchanting Phewa Lake, where you can witness a mesmerizing sunset against the backdrop of the Annapurna mountain range.
The fourth day begins with an early morning excursion to Sarangkot hill, where you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise painting the mountains in hues of gold and pink. The panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges are truly awe-inspiring. After returning to Pokhara and having breakfast, embark on a half-day sightseeing tour of the city. Visit Devi's Fall, a magnificent waterfall that disappears into an underground tunnel, and explore the mystical Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave with its hidden stalactite formations. The International Mountain Museum offers a comprehensive insight into the world of mountaineering and the Himalayas. The rest of the day is yours to relax or indulge in various activities such as boating on Phewa Lake or paragliding for an adrenaline rush.
The fifth day is left free for you to explore Pokhara at your own pace. You may choose to hike up to the World Peace Pagoda, a serene Buddhist monument that offers panoramic views of the city and the Himalayan peaks. The Bindabasini Temple, dedicated to the goddess Durga, is another noteworthy attraction.
